On June 27th we were able to run a rather special event. Diane Hessan, our CEO, is on the board of the Boston Philharmonic and its Youth Orchestra, who have received many accolades and fantastic critical acclaim, under the guidance of world-renowned conductor, Benjamin Zander. This summer, the Youth Orchestra performed in a six-city tour of The Netherlands, culminating in a performance at the stunning and pitch-perfect Concertgebouwplein in Amsterdam. Thanks to Diane’s friendship with Zander we were able to invite a group of our Dutch clients to accompany us to the closing concert.
We were joined by friends from KLM, Albert Heijn, ABN AMRO and Philips and their friends and families, to enjoy the program which included Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor, with 17-year-old soloist and child prodigy George Li, who recently had the honor of performing for President Barack Obama.
If that wasn’t enough, we also had an opportunity to meet the great man himself; Zander greeted all of our guests and charmed us endlessly before gracefully exiting and taking center stage.
The setting was truly beautiful, and the performances sublime. Maestro Zander was a delight to watch and his Orchestra, whose members range in age from 13 to 21, were sensational. To witness such dedicated musicians play so beautifully and passionately was a true privilege. In a world full of cynicism and bad news, it was remarkable to be transported by their talent and dazzling music.
Our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves for what was truly an evening of inspiration.
