Throughout the year Promise Communispace CEO, Charles Trevail, hosts a number of exclusive, limited-seating Luncheon Meet events for senior stakeholders. Past speakers have included Alan Stewart, CFO of Marks & Spencer, Frank van der Post, Managing Director, Brand and Customer Experience of British Airways and Martin George, Managing Director of Group Development at Bupa.
This time we welcomed Deborah Hale, MBE who successfully organized the U.K.’s largest public engagement campaign since Dunkirk – the Olympic and Paralympic Torch Relay. Deborah was also joined by Daryl Jelinek, the General Manager of lead sponsor, Coca-Cola. Together they shared their story and their advice: the art of a successful marketing campaign, accomplishing real youth engagement and how to achieve lasting impact.
The relay, which included 8,000 torch bearers, was on the road for 70 days and traveled to within 10 miles of 95 percent of people in the U.K., Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey. At 3 years in the planning it was no small feat, but was an undeniable success. What is most inspiring about Deborah and Daryl’s journey is that more than a year later, the impact is still visible. As an engagement campaign, the relay stands as an impressive blueprint which companies can only hope to emulate.
Not surprisingly, the pair drew an impressive crowd and we were oversubscribed for the event; joined by representatives from a broad range of sectors, including McDonald’s, Camelot and Colgate, to name only a few.
We run several Luncheon Meet events throughout the year, each welcoming different and inspiring speakers. To express an interest in our next Luncheon Meet, or to ask us any questions about the event, please contact Nicole at email@example.com.
