When it comes to the holidays, everyone always talks about the music, the “cheer,” the family, the gifts, the food, etcetera, etcetera. For me, the holidays aren’t complete without the following three things:
- Cold weather
While these might be unconventional, I can’t get into the mood, so to speak, without them. (To be clear, when I say “fire,” I mean in the fireplace. I’m not some crazy pyro.)
I was able check off the second item, cold weather, about a month ago thanks to a chilly end of November. And we finally got our first glimpse of snow earlier this week. The only thing I am missing now is the fire. Of course, being a city dweller, getting access to fire is no easy feat. Unless I plan on starting a dumpster blaze or a barrel fire, I’m pretty much S.O.L.
Without the option of starting a fire of my own, the next best thing is watching someone else’s. My gift to you (and to myself) is fire for your home:
Have the happiest of holidays and the merriest of new years. Cheers!
