Lightning session

Exclusive to those attending in person, our lightning sessions bring to life Inclusive Innovation, with many examples demonstrating how research plays a part in delivering on Inclusive Innovation strategies.

Windows & Mirrors – Identity and Media Choices in Modern Britain
Sarah Ashley, Google

Google wanted to understand how people’s identity informs what they love to watch, and what that means for the U.K. media industry. Sarah will be sharing learnings and insights from an extensive new Google and MTM research, spanning interviews with leading advertisers, consultations with experts, cultural analysis, and survey results from more than 10,000 people from all corners of the U.K.

Inclusive Design in Dating
Risham Nadeem, C Space

Over the last couple of months, Risham Nadeem – Business Director and core member of C Space’s DEI Think Tank – and Aidan Borer – Head of Service Design – have been exploring the question of inclusive design and the pursuit of intimacy in collaboration with non-profit, the Design Museum Everywhere. They’ve conducted 10 user interviews with marginalised daters and they’re speaking to experts including dating app designers, sex workers, romance novelists and more to really understand what intimacy looks like today and why it’s so hard to find for marginalised people, in particular. In this session, Risham will be sharing some of their learnings and thought-starters for inclusive insights and design practices in this space.

The Empowerment of Intersectionality
Anna Johannes, Interbrand

In a world where no one is simply defined by one identity, why should consumers be confined to just a couple of categories? Discover the impact of embracing intersectionality in understanding and connecting with individuals holistically. Take a mini deep-dive into exploring the transformative potential of recognising and celebrating the complexity of human identity in consumer interactions with Paralympian and Inclusive Design Strategist, Anna Johannes.
